Panchadi Rambabu, Amudalavalasa, Srikakulam – Profile

Panchadi Rambabu is the AP State Secretary of Yuva Satta (youth wing of Lok Satta Party) and its zonal in-charge for three districts – Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, and Vishakapatnam. Rambabu can be reached on phone (+91- 9701884656) or via email.

Rambabu plays an important role in all party activities in Srikakulam. He has extensively toured the villages of the district to mobilize support for the party and its agenda,. His role in the success of LSP meetings with farmers of his mandal in July 2009 gave him recognition as an upcoming leader in the party. Since then, he has won internal elections as mandal prseident and risen to key roles in Yuva Satta. One of his primary objectives is to remove the obstacles for youth to participate actively in the political process. He also has the credit for designing and successfully implementing a campaign for the improvement of primary education in Government schools in his mandal. This increased enrolment in the schools in 15 villages and saves families about Rs. 5000 per annum since they no longer have to pay private school fees.

For Lok Satta to convert good will into votes, he says that the focus has to be on addressing the immediate concerns of the people. This requires building organizational strength and grooming local leadership. He notes that there will be windows of opportunities, for instance related to fighting corruption now, when there is heightened awareness and enthusiasm in people for political activity. Since Lok Satta has led a sustained movement for such systemic reforms, the party and leaders should be alert and ready to take advantage of such opportunities to grow the ranks.

Born in 1981 in Velamam village in Amudalavalasa Mandal (Srikakulam District , Andhra Pradesh), Rambabu is a B.Sc graduate and a trained Hindi teacher. Before joining the Lok Satta Party and politics full time, he worked as a Physics lecturer in a junior college in Srikakulam and ran a boy’s hostel in Vizag.

Rambabu advocates that parents should encourage their children to play their part in the welfare of society and to look after one’s interests without becoming self-centred. He says that it is a fallacy to believe that one can have a great future in spite of a disordered and chaotic society.
